About H & L

After living in Alaska for a few years I came to realize that this was were I should be , I cut my ties to New England and shipped to Alaska a barn full of timbers that I hade milled from my property there. Over the next 7 years I was consumed with designing and building a traditional timber frame house in Girdwood.
I have continued to be active in the climbing community , having enjoyed the position of being the Alaska Section Chairman of the American Alpine Club and working with volunteers within the outdoor community on projects such as designing and building the Serenity Falls Hut near the Eklutna Glacier. The Alaska Section has also built the new Webfoot Latrine in the Archangel valley climbing area, and rebuilt the Snowbird Hut, also in the Talkeetna Mnts.
